Most clients make initial contact by phone. During your telephone call we will briefly discuss what you want to achieve and how hypnotherapy may be able to help you. I will answer any questions you may have about hypnosis.
The first session focuses on clearly identifying what you want to achieve and putting simple strategies in place to do this. Together we will explore exactly what you want to achieve and this will enable me to personalise a strategy for you to enhance your wellbeing. Everything that you discuss will be in the strictest confidence.
We will have plenty of time to answer any questions you may have about hypnosis or NLP. By the end of the session we will have clearly defined your long and short term goals for our work together.
The second session is where the real fun starts – in this session I will use a combination of hypnosis and NLP to help you take control of your behaviour and make the changes you want.
You will relax in a comfortable chair as I guide you in to a state of hypnosis. Typically you will be very aware of everything that occurs, but will feel very relaxed and comfortable. While you continue to feel relaxed I will help guide your sub-conscious mind to find the perfect solution for you.
When the session is complete, you will remember all that has occurred. Some people like to talk about their experience.
Sessions 3 to 5 are similar to session 2. Having checked what progress you have made since the last session, I will vary my techniques to ensure that you have the best possible chance of success in the shortest time possible. Each session will build on the last, giving you plenty of strategies to achieve your goals.
Most people find that after three or four one-hour sessions they are on track again with new found confidence.
Long term depression or acute anxiety states may take a little longer, but it depends on how quickly you respond to treatment.

So, is it a simple equation – eat less, lose weight?
Not really, because to many people food is more than just fuel: sometimes we associate food with emotions – sad, happy, fed up, not in control of situations. Our stomach expects more food because we have stretched it too much. We feel it’s ‘not fair’ that we can’t eat what we want.
And then there are those ‘messages’ from our past such as ‘Eat everything on your plate’. These messages can affect our beliefs and values around food. If you are seriously considering using a virtual gastric band to enable you to eat less you need to believe that: ‘You can eat less and become slimmer’.
As a result of this treatment you will be able to enjoy all foods, but just eat less of them and feel totally satisfied with the amount you do eat. You can begin to exercise your body to tone it up by doing the exercises that are right for you and that you are happy doing. You deserve to be slimmer and wear the clothes you want to wear.
Virtual Gastric Band will take you through a virtual operation so that you feel as though your stomach is much smaller and therefore it is no hardship to eat less and lose weight consistently.
Even more importantly – you will remain slimmer. Having allowed your stomach to become smaller, you will keep it that way and if you try to eat too much you will feel very uncomfortable and overfull.
For clients with serious emotional issues and disorders, the virtual gastric band will only be used once the issues are dealt with in the first few sessions. This is a vital part of the process, because the virtual gastric band will not work if the old emotions are stronger than the new beliefs at this time.
